Pastor's Table is a ministry for continuing education in our Catholic faith. It entails socializing, a conference, and a potluck dinner. In other words, it is really food for body and soul. Please join us; such ministry is an occasion to meet other parishioners, interact and socialize with our staff and priests, having a wonderful time and a great dinner together. These meetings take place in MacMahon Hall (vis-à-vis our school). You may park your car in the school parking lot.

Giving the space of MacMahon hall seating is limited to 90 people. Because of its popularity our list is getting full quite fast. For reservations call the Office of Faith Formation at 831-624-6846.

The evening will consist of hearty hors d'oeuvres in the Mission courtyard followed by a musical program entitled "Inspirational Broadway," presented by Fr. John, Kathy Anderson, and Ed Soberanes. Call the Office of Faith Formation for more information and for reservations. Because we are not meeting in MacMahon Hall, space is unlimited. Still, please call us so that we know you're coming!

"Christian Ministry in Iraq"

Speaker: Warren Hoy

A brief presentation on ministering in Iraq and his first hand experience on practicing his faith in time of war. With his wife, Victoria, Warren is a lector and Eucharistic Minister at Carmel Mission Basilica. Through him Carmel Mission helped our troops and the Christian community of Baghdad. We are glad that he returned safe home as we pray together for the safety of all those who are in harm's way, sacrificing for establishing peace and freedom.

Bishop Mehdi Me Toka (Syrian Bishop of Baghdad), Father Aisar Elias (Rector of the Bishopric Church), Father George George (the Catholic Chaplain I worked with at the CPA), and Reverend Dave Stanley (Fr. George's Protestant counterpart).

Father George is handing out some of the things that Carmel Mission sent over.

"From Jesus to us: Sacred Vessels for Bread and Wine"

Speaker: Fr. Emil Robu

A brief conference on the sacred vessels used in the liturgy. Fr. Emil will trace the origins of Christian celebration of the Eucharist and its liturgical vessels from our Jewish roots to our own time. We take a look at the development of liturgy and theology and their influence on the practical matters, such as the sacred vessels.
