    First CommunionThe First Communion preparation program at Carmel Mission guides children toward an initial understanding of the mystery of Christ and Eucharist as they prepare to come to the Lord’s Table for the first time. First communion requires a two year preparation period. Six year olds or first graders participate in Pre-Sacrament Faith Formation programs. Seven year olds or second graders participate in Faith Formation programs, plus intensive programs specific to First Communion and First Reconciliation.
